Dead or Alive Warzone Re-launch

Date: July 30th, 2009

It was March of 2010 when the last content was uploaded to the DOA Warzone. After encountering a combination of setbacks and technical difficulties, it was necessary to take a forced break due to no longer being able to record video and image media. After nearly four months of inactivity, DOA Warzone is pleased to announce that the unofficial hiatus is over. As of July 30th, 2010 updates will be resuming in full force. As you may have noticed, there have been some changes to DOAW. I would like to take a quick moment to discuss these changes and our new direction.

New Layout
The first, and most obvious, change to DOAW is the new layout. This design is a slightly modified version of my original template for the site that never made it live. The previous layout that was used for the site was plagued by a variety issues, including confusing navigation menus and just generally several poor design flaws. These issues have been corrected in the new layout. Designed to appear on different screen sizes and re-tooled with easy navigation menus, finding content on the site will be much easier.

Character vs. 'Cards'
Before, finding specific match ups could be infuriating. Cycling through pages looking for certain fights could be tedious and time consuming. The implementation of what I will refer to as, 'Cards' will hopefully ease the strain. Instead of each characters 'Match History' list all of their encounters, it now has a character menu that enables you to select their opponent, which will then call up their match history with that person. Note that I have been working on these late at night, so if there are any buggy or faulty links, please let me know so I can correct it. Also, character match ups that have not yet happened have been identified as such. Each card will also feature statistics about the fight. Ultimately, the 'winning' character will be determined by whoever is on the offensive in the most images as opposed to recording knock outs, though this is subject to change. This section is still under construction, and thus a majority of the statistics have simply been labelled as 'Coming Soon.'

Knock-Out Shot
One new feature we're adding to the fight images are what are called "Knock-out Shots". The purpose of these images will be to mark high impact, usually match or round ending moments of the fight. These images will be indentified by being grayscale (however, we will upload the original full color photo as well).

Unlinked Content
Due to all of the changes, for my own sanity I have not yet uploaded the Tag-Team images. Rest assured they will be coming soon. All of the singles matches 'should' be functional. As well, several videos are not yet available for download. Special event images are also unavailable until further notice. We also have not had the opportunity to get all of our new content posted, so please be patient as we work the process.

Social Networking
In an attempt to reach out to the DOA Community, DOAW is now on Facebook and Twitter. Follow us to receive updates and sneak-peaks at future updates before they are posted on the website. Of course, our forum will remain open for your use.

Requests/Fan Fiction/Blogs/Etc.
As with our last website, the popular request feature returns in it's entirely. Request either singles or tag matches to be done and posted on the website. Unlike before, we are implementing a strict request policy. One per user, per day. This is to avoid flooding and enable us to ensure that we can get to everyone's requests in a timely manner. Read our request disclaimer for further information. Fan Fiction is an old section that will enjoy and hopefully flourish with a larger role. We encourage all writers to submit stories to share with the rest of our viewers. Please proof-read your articles, as we cannot spell check and edit all submissions.

Videos
The Video Center was one of our favorite and most popular additions to the website and will be returning in its entirety. Unfortunately, due to some technical issues we are still unable to add video media to our Youtube channel. We hope to have the issue resolved soon...ish.
